Home is where the anxiety is...

So another update. We initially took our realtors advice on who to go through for fianancing. But then Matts friend Deb gave us the guilt trip for not going through her. So we had them both give us their good faith estimates and Deb gave us the same lower rate with lower costs. Plus she's Matts friend... so we went with her.
I had numerous concerns that I brought up with Deb and she was all assurances and confidence. But as I feared she fell short of her promises and now, when we should be focussing on getting stuff arranged to move in, we are instead wondering if we are going to close on time.
Apparently the underwriters she goes through require everything to be done before they will start the underwriting process. Well an oversite on a particular piece of paperwork that is required when getting an FHA loan like we are was missing. So everything has been on hold until that gets submitted. Difficulty getting ahold of the seller didn't help. So this last Friday morning when I thought we would be hearing that everything has gone through and is great, instead we get a call from Kim saying that our earnest money is in danger because of this paperwork issue, and the whole underwriting process hasn't even been started.
Needless to say I'm not happy. We did hear from Kim again later that day with news that the tragedy was mostly averted because we got in contact with the seller. But this still may put our closing back a day or two. Hopefully not though, cause I already took the time off. Time will tell though. The underwriting process apparently takes 4 to 5 days now because of the number of people trying to refianance to the lower rates. Which means we won't know until around Wednesday or Thursday at the earliest... and we were supposed to close on Thursday.
So anyway... that's the current frustration. We're still fairly confident everything is going to go through... just a matter of when now. Alright... deep breathes.
